Our Healthy Recommendation

Many of you have been patiently waiting for us to recommend a new source for hCG. We spent a few months researching many different brands of homeopathic drops, but we were unable to find any brands with consistent results and ingredients that we felt we could endorse. Maintaining My Appetite

On my journey to weight loss and a better way of living healthy I have lost over 60 pounds using the HCG 2.0 diet.  I love the results with this diet, and now the question is how do I keep the weight off.

While doing the 2.0 or 3.0 protocol you are basically doing a low calorie ketosis diet. Want to know more about ketosis diet? Click here! Now that I am no longer dieting and just watching my carb/calorie intake I wanted to find a product that would help me with my food cravings and appetite so I would not eat so much in a meal. Trust me I love to eat.

There are two products that have helped me tremendously with my cravings as well as other health benefits:

  • Garcinia Cambogia
  • CBD HEMP Oil

The first is Garcinia cambogia. This has been talked about for awhile throughout the nutritional market. I chose to try garcinia cambogia my research showed that it is a “natural” appetite suppressant.

While doing research I also found that garcinia cambogia has some other product benefits and claims such as the following:

However, the patch itself was weird to use for me since I could not have it in water at any time. Since I live in a tropical climate, I swim a lot and take frequent showers throughout the day. I had to remove the patch, and most times it would not reapply.  I then found the best form for me was a direct spray. A Man’s View: Getting to Ketosis

Getting to Ketosis on an hCG diet.

Let’s face it. An hCG diet is a ketosis diet. So let me explain what ketosis is.

Ketosis is when your body is fueled mainly from fats rather than calories, that is called ketosis. This is a normal state for your body to be in while fasting or low carb / hCG diet. The “keto” in the word ketosis derives from the process of when the liver produces small fuel molecules called ketones. Ketones are an alternative fuel for the body that are used when blood sugar (glucose) is in short supply.  One way they are produced is by eating very few carbs and only moderate amounts of protein. The process of converting from glucose to ketones can take approximately 48 hours, which is why the first few days of the diet can sometimes be challenging.

These are some of the side effects you may experience during this transformation are:

  • Tiredness or fatigue
  • Leg cramps
  • Headache
  • Feeling thirsty all the time
  • Bad breath
  • Metallic taste in the mouth
  • Weakness
  • Dizziness
  • Nausea or stomach ache
  • Sleep problems

Usually, the only types of people who need to worry about ketosis are those people with type 1 diabetes or breastfeeding mothers with type two diabetes. In both circumstances, you should have your physician monitor your ketone levels to make sure they don’t get too high.

Here are a few ways to get into ketosis faster and easier are:

Minimize Your Carb Consumption
The best way to get into ketosis fastest is to minimize your carb intake. When your body is in the normal metabolic state it uses sugars (glucose) as a fuel source. When you deprive your body of carbs it starts to produce ketones which cause the body to start using fat as an energy source instead of sugar (glucose). So the most important step to get into ketosis is to cut out your carbs. This is easily done with an hCG diet since the three major protocols reduce carb intake as well as calories. Breaking Up With Sugar

This week my husband posted something on Facebook about breaking up with sugar. The day he posted it he had just started day one of loading for his next round on hCG. So, when we went shopping for things for him to eat on his loading days I walked past the candy section of our grocery store and spotted an old favorite of mine, a Milky Way candy bar. I figured one candy bar couldn’t hurt because I was on my fifth week in phase three and doing well to maintain. So that evening while he was eating every fattening thing he could find, I ate my candy bar with an overwhelming feeling of doom and gloom. I wanted it to taste like the sugary sweet goodness I had remembered from before I started dieting, but I was incredibly disappointed. What I got instead was the taste of wax and sugar. After my second bite, I began getting angrier and angrier with myself that I wasted all these carbs and calories on something so nasty.

Within 20 minutes of finishing the candy bar my stomach began cramping and I eventually found myself running for the toilet. I was once again reminded that for me sugar is in bed with the devil himself. Before I began my hCG journey there was always the question somewhere in the back of my mind as to where I would find my next sugar fix. It wasn’t uncommon for me to stop at Krispy Kreme to get donuts for lunch or eat two candy bars and count that as a meal. This was after my breakfast of two Pop Tarts and a Caramel Macchiato from Starbucks. And every evening consisted of ice cream and sugary snacks.

As I sat in the bathroom cursing the Milky Way, the headache started, and I knew. Sugar is as addictive for me as crack cocaine is for a drug addict. It should be illegal in my world, and even though it will always be my kryptonite I now get to associate it with that waxy candy bar. I hope that every time I am tempted for more than one bite of a dessert that I think about how much I was hating the way I felt that night and how I had wasted my calories and carbs on something so empty of nutrition. And in hindsight I probably would have fared better by eating a candle.

For my husband, carbs are his kryptonite. And while I don’t struggle with the carbs as much as he does, I have grown more aware of hidden carbs that I would have never thought about before I started my hCG journey. I don’t buy any food at the market anymore without reading labels. I have lost almost 80 pounds with hCG, but even if I hadn’t, my body would be still be responding better just because of how much healthier we are eating. We are consuming as much food as we did before the diet, but with far less calories, carbs, sugar and processed foods.  And our bodies are rewarding us by feeling younger and more energetic.

A Man’s View: High School Weight

When I graduated from Stephen T. Badin High School in Hamilton, Ohio and joined the US Army in 1981 I weighed 180 pounds. I could run a marathon and did a couple of times. I could also do over 70 push-ups in 2 minutes and 70
sit-ups in 2 minutes. Then
I went to Germany and fell in love with everyone’s favorite beverage, real German beer and favorite meal, schnitzel (breaded pork) with jaeger gravy.

I probably am not going to run a marathon anytime soon. However, I do see my high school weight in sight now because of this HCG diet. I truly believe I can hit that 180 pounds. Maybe not this round of the diet but the next round for sure.

The amount of weight I am losing with this diet is downright amazing. I am not going to lie to you. It is a hard diet. I have had to give up a lot. This is a lifestyle change, and I am going to make the change to maintain my weight.

Who was Dr. ATW Simeons?

As you probably know, Dr. ATW Simeons was the British endocrinologist who developed the HCG diet. However, it helpful to know more about the credibility of the man who has helped so many of us achieve our weight loss goals.

Dr. Simeons was born in 1900 in London, and he died in 1970 in Rome. Before his work with HCG, Dr. Simeons was awarded the Red Cross Order of Merit for his groundbreaking work with Malaria and conducted extensive studies on the bubonic plague and leprosy in India. While working with malnourished women in India, he noticed that despite the mother’s malnutrition, they were delivering healthy babies. He then shifted his focus to weight loss and obesity in the 1950’s while in Rome where he began giving HCG to young boys suffering from Froehlich Syndrome. These boys were considered “fat” and had over-sized breasts and undersized sexual organs. Dr. Simeons noticed that the HCG was helping the boys lose their hunger and inches around their hips.
